August...Wedding

Well, it has been awhile since we last sat down and talked.

I can not believe how fast this summer, this year is flying by. We are in mid-August and finally getting a heat wave, really for the first time this year. I say finally like I was hoping that would happen...no, not at all. I can not wait until the end of September when the weather begins to change over too my favorite time of year. I like to call it "sweater-weather"! Also the trees start to change colors to let me know the Flyers are coming. Ok, many years ago, when I was a young lad...my father used to tell me that the tree would change from green to orange because the Flyers were coming to town to start the season. I never forgot that and still to this day think of that when I see the trees changing. Soon!

Anyway. August has been pretty interesting. Started this month of with a wedding. I was really a good time. I was kind anxious before everything started but was actually pretty calm all day. I mean after 11 years what is there really to be nervous about. Know what I mean? All of the groomsman met at my house early for photos and some guy time. After photos everyone pretty much just hung out at my bar while I played PlayStation with my nephew. It was good to get my mind off everything for about an hour. We eventually made our way to the church to get ready. I had to wait downstairs for the crowd to get seated. I did start to get alittle restless during the waiting. After awhile we did finally make our way out and things got started really fast. Faster then I was anticipating. Everyone in the party did the little walkout thing and all went smooth. The bride finally turned the corner and looked so beautiful. I have never really seen her dressed completely formal. Everything after that was pretty much a blur. I thought about messing up the lines in the days prior to the wedding but fortunately I made it through pretty perfectly. Sheew!

After the actual wedding we did lots of photographs. We made our way to a local lake where the backdrop would look great. We did many different styles but mainly straight-up old fashion, that's what we, I wanted. When we were on our final photo we noticed two stray dogs running down the path in our direction (they did have collars on but no human owners). We really thought this was gonna be a problem. When they got within uncomfortable distance this woman came out of an adjacent path with her own dog (on a leash). The rabid dogs made a quick turn to sniff the rear of the calm leashed dog. So crisis adverted. So we thought. The poor lady could not get away from the wild animals no matter what she did. Our photographer put his camera down and tried to help, then my bestman came running from the limo to try and help. The lady noticed we were still trying to do pictures so she tried her best to just walk away. It was just her and her dog, with two 'cujo' dog trailing. Eventually they made their way around the bend and we continued with our photos. On our way out of the park about 20 minutes later we were headed to the reception. I looked out of the limo to my right and the poor lady was standing under a tree with the two crazy dogs doing circles around her and her dog. Sorry lady!

The reception was a really great time. I went in there with the mind set of only doing 2 dances. One with the wife and one with the mom. I did those and more. That is a surprised because you know how people say that people that cant dance have two left feet, well I have no feet. I can do anything good and somethings great, but I can not dance...and I am ok with that. Me and dancing are a peace with each other. The whole night was great. The food, beer, speeches, people...everything was better then I thought it was gonna be. I would do it again if I could. After the reception most of the bridal party went back to the wife's mother's house to continue the drinking and conversing. Night ended around 7 am. When we pulled up to the house the sun was coming up, now that's a party!

A day later we went on a honeymoon/vacation but that will have to wait until another Bri-Blog, I think i just wrote a book here on the wedding. Until next time...
